Where We Came From 

In 1988, Thom McCluskey, a graduate of the University of Illinois, laid the foundations for what would become a thriving structural engineering firm in Naperville, Illinois.  From one man working at his kitchen table to a team of 12 engineers and drafters, McCluskey Engineering Corporation grew under Thom’s leadership. 

In 1999, Seth Michael joined the firm in preparation for Thom’s retirement.  A graduate of the University of Cincinnati, Seth headed up the Engineer-of-Record division.  Shortly after, Doug Colclasure, a graduate of Purdue University, was hired in 2004 to head up the Precast Engineering division.  Since Thom’s retirement Seth and Doug have grown the firm both in size and breadth. 

Currently licensed in 34 states, with a staff of 24, McCluskey Engineering Corporation has redefined the standard for structural engineering excellence and reliability which are necessary in our ever-changing world. 

Today, as we enter the next chapter of MEC, a new generation of leaders stand ready to preserve the traditions first laid down by Thom and to charge forth exploring new opportunities for growth, knowledge, and client satisfaction
